Dr. Riley J. Williams, III

Chief Medical Officer, Head of Product Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Williams III, MD, our co-founder, is our Chief Medical Officer, Head of Product Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Dr. Williams is an orthopedic surgeon and academic, specializing in the field of shoulder, knee, and elbow surgery.  Dr Williams has been affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery since 1993.

Since 1998, Dr. Williams has held dual appointments in the HSS Department of Orthopedic Surgery, where he is a full-time member of the Sports Medicine & Shoulder Service, and the HSS Research Division, as a Clinician-Scientist.  Dr. Williams is an Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College.  His clinical and research expertise includes cartilage, ligament (ACL), tendon injuries, repair and reconstruction.

Dr. Williams has held numerous sports-related medical positions.   He has been the Head Team Physician and Orthopedic Surgeon of the Brooklyn Nets professional basketball team since 2005. Dr. Williams is also Head Team Physician for the New York Red Bulls professional soccer team.  Dr. Williams is also the Head Team Physician for the Iona College Department of Athletics.  He has also served as Associate Team Physician for the New York Mets professional baseball team and has worked with New York Giants professional football team.

Dr. Williams holds a B.S. from Yale University and an M.D. from the Stanford University School of Medicine.  Dr. Williams also is co-founder and member of R2T2 Solutions LLC, which will grant us the exclusive worldwide license for Therma1™.


Taran Swan

Chief Executive Officer

Taran_SwanTaran Swan is our Chief Executive Officer and a Director.  Taran is a business consultant with general management, strategy, business development, and leadership training expertise.  Since 2002, Taran has provided business advisory, leadership training, and executive coaching services to a wide range of companies in industries including automotive, financial services, healthcare, insurance, and media & entertainment as President of Taran Swan Consulting.  In addition to providing consulting services in corporate settings, Taran has worked with senior executives in Leadership Development Programs at the Harvard Business School (“HBS”) as a member of HBS’s Coaching Faculty.  Since 2006, Taran has been a partner with The MediaFix, a leading Digital strategy and consumer insight company.

Taran has held senior executive P&L positions with the Walt Disney Company, Viacom (MTV Networks/Nickelodeon), and Salomon Brothers.  From 1993 – 2001, Taran was an executive with Nickelodeon, where she was elevated to Executive Vice President and Executive Committee member.  While at Nickelodeon, Taran ran the Digital group, and also launched and ran Nickelodeon Latin America, an experience that was chronicled in the Harvard Business School case study, Taran Swan at Nickelodeon Latin America.  That case is part of HBS’s Leadership Curriculum, has been ranked on HBS’s Most Popular Studies list, and is used in MBA and executive management curricula at business schools around the world.  At Disney, Taran was a senior business planner responsible for evaluating opportunities for Disney’s Entertainment Division.  At Salomon Brothers, Taran worked on the firm’s trading floor in structured fixed income products, and became one of the firm’s youngest Vice Presidents.

Taran has served on the boards of a venture capital fund and an early-stage multicultural multimedia business backed by Goldman, Sachs & Co.  Taran holds a B.A. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, attended NYU’s Courant Graduate School of Mathematics as a Bell Laboratories Fellow, and holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.  She is the wife of Roy Swan, the co-founder of R2T2 Solutions LLC, which will grant us the exclusive worldwide license for Therma1™.

John Parikhal

Chief Marketing Officer

John ParikhalJohn Parikhal is our Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Sales.  Since 1977, John has been President of Joint Communications Corporation, an international media strategy and research company.  John has also been a partner at MediaFix, a leading Digital strategy and consumer insight company since 2006.  John has been a partner in Adrenalin, a North American marketing company specializing in positioning and promotion, since 1986.

John has provided marketing, management, and strategy advice to over 500 clients on four continents; is the author of two books, including The Baby Boom: Making Sense of Our Generation at 40; has written over 300 articles for magazines and newspapers; co-created a hit TV show for NBC; and is a highly sought after speaker on topics including trends, marketing, and consumer insights.

John holds a B.A. in Economics and Business from the University of Western Ontario, an M.A. in English and Communications from the University of Toronto, and pursued his Ph.D. in English (All But Dissertation) from the University of Toronto, where he was awarded the Canada Council Doctoral Fellowship an unprecedented three times.

Dr. Tanya Williams

Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary-Treasurer

Dr. Tanya Williams, MD, FAAP, is our Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary-Treasurer, and a Director.  Dr. Williams is a board-certified, subspecialty-trained pediatrician.  Since 2011, Dr. Williams has been an independent consultant providing health-related support services and advice to the private school community in New York City.

Prior to forming her independent consulting practice, Dr. Williams took time off from her professional career to focus on volunteer work, while raising her two daughters.  From 2003 to 2010, Dr. Williams served in multiple roles and as President of the Parents’ Association of Marymount School New York.  From 2008 to 2010 and then 2011 to present, Dr. Williams has been a member of the Board of Trustees at the Marymount School.

Since 2009, Dr. Williams has served on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for After School Education (P.A.S.E.), a not-for-profit organization in New York.  Dr. Williams held a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York where she was director of the Child and Family Support Program from 2000-2002.

Dr. Williams holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Southern California and an M.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.  She completed her Pediatric residency and post-graduate fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell Medical Center.  She is the wife of Dr. Riley Williams, co-founder of R2T2 Solutions LLC, which will grant us the exclusive worldwide license for Therma1™.

Bonnie Carter

Head of Distribution and Sales

Bonnie Carter is Head of Distribution and Sales. She has several years experience as a Management Consultant in various industries including Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Retail and Automotive working on both domestic and international projects. Skilled in procurement strategy and negotiations, she combines her business background with enthusiasm and commitment to achieve targeted results

First with AT Kearney Management Consultants and then with her own firm – TMP Global Advisors Bonnie led several engagements for large diversified consumer products companies involving comprehensive diagnoses of total expenditures, extensive industry analysis, identification of cost savings opportunities and conducting supplier negotiations. These projects resulted in significant cost reductions across severalcategories including both indirect and direct materials purchases.

Additionally, Bonnie has several years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector includingvarious project management appointments and Chairmanships of two Boards of Directors. She is a highly skilled sales ambassador with significant fundraising expertise.

Bonnie earned a BA in Economics from Spelman College in 1989 and an MBA from Harvard University in 1994.
